I'm a builder. I like the early stage, when the product is still an idea and someone has to turn it into something that solves a problem.
At Couchbase I joined the Capella platform team before GA and stayed through the IPO. At Chief I was one of the first engineers, and I'm a principal engineer there. More recently, I co-founded Nobur.
Building
Nobur runs real estate transactions in Brazil, for agencies and for brokers who work on their own.
- · One place for the whole deal: the leads that arrive from the listing portals, the funnel, the conversations, the proposals, the contract and its signature, and the commission at the closing.
- · Sold as a subscription, from the broker who works alone to the agency with a team.
- · Each agency gets a public site of its own, with its listings.
- · An assistant takes the repetitive part of the work off the broker.
- · I built the foundation and most of what runs today, alongside an engineer co-founder.
A consultancy of two people, with engineering and organic growth under one roof.
- · Two practices: engineering, which is product, infrastructure and AI, and organic growth, which is technical SEO and content.
- · Fixed-scope projects or embedded time, with nobody between the client and the people who do the work.
- · My engineering work for other companies runs through it, Chief and Couchbase among them.
Career
Enterprise AI platform that turns business data into insights. I was one of the first engineers and I am the largest contributor to the codebase.
- · Built billing and credits end to end: Stripe, plans and subscriptions, the refill engine, budgets, per-tenant limits, and credit purchase at the organization level.
- · Built the LLM platform: routing across Anthropic, OpenAI and Gemini with retries and re-routing, tool calling, agents, memory, streaming, and token and cost accounting.
- · Shipped the integrations that bring customer data in, among them Notion, Slack, Google Drive and Zoom, each connected at the organization level.
- · Owned the platform: Terraform from the first line, Kubernetes with Helm, AlloyDB, Temporal, and the pipelines that ship it.
- · Built multi-tenancy on PostgreSQL row-level security, so isolation lives in the database rather than in application filters.
- · Built the observability stack on Prometheus and Grafana Cloud, with alerting on cost and usage spikes.
- · Wrote the engineering standards and the internal tooling the team builds with.
Capella is a fully managed DBaaS across cloud providers. Couchbase went public in 2021.
- · Owned the CI/CD pipeline and the release process for 200+ engineers.
- · Owned the infrastructure as code across cloud providers.
- · Architected the observability stack and the Kubernetes orchestration of the control plane.
- · Led cost optimization, from cloud spend to vendor contracts.
- · Built the internal tools and sandbox environments the team develops against.
The research arm of TOTVS in the US. I worked on Carol, a SaaS data platform for ML and AI in the Brazilian market.
- · Shaped the infrastructure, the architecture and the operation of the platform.
- · Led the SRE team in my last year.
